INTERIOR CHECKLIST

1. Designed by licensed architect or residential building designer?

 

2. Orientation

a. Is the house oriented to take maximum advantage of the sun?
b. Is the house oriented to take maximum advantage of any view(s)?
c. Is it oriented away from any noisy area(s)?
d. Is it situated to take advantage of any breezes?
e. Is it situated to take advantage of the contour of land?

 

3. Where should the entry be located?

 

4. Do you plan to do any exterior expansion, such as a deck, garage or other addition?

 

5. Are any interior expansion planned?

a. bonus space
b. garage
c. basement

 

6. Is there adequate wall space for furniture in each room?

 

7. Is there a well-designed hall?

a. leads to all areas
b. no congestion
c. no congestion
d. no wasted space
e. 3' minimum widths

 

8. Does the plan meets family's needs?

 

9. Do all rooms have direct emergency escape?

 

10. Are all the doorways functional?

14. Are there good traffic patterns that fit your lifestyle?

 

15. Are noisy areas separated from quiet areas, especially children's rooms?

 

16. Do rooms have adequate wall space for furniture?

 
17. All halls are 3'-6" minimum?
